Title: Lead Technician - MTU
Job Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostic procedures to identify engine-related issues in vehicles equipped with MTU engines.
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of vehicles, utilizing specialized tools and equipment to diagnose problems accurately.
- Perform complex repair and maintenance tasks on engines, including troubleshooting, disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications, technical manuals, and service bulletins while performing repair and maintenance tasks.
- Utilize computerized diagnostic systems and software to assist in identifying and resolving engine-related problems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians, assisting them in diagnosing and repairing complex engine issues.
- Monitor the progress and quality of work performed by junior technicians, ensuring compliance with dealership standards and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and diagnostic procedures performed on vehicles, ensuring documentation is complete and detailed.
- Stay updated on the latest technological advancements, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques related to MTU engines.
- Collaborate with the parts department to identify and procure necessary parts and components for engine repairs.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the workshop area and tools, adhering to dealership policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while performing repair and maintenance tasks, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians, providing guidance on proper diagnostic procedures, repair techniques, and customer service skills.
- Coordinate with the service manager to prioritize and schedule service jobs based on customer requirements and dealership objectives.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements and efficiency improvements within the service and maintenance department.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries, explaining repair procedures, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Keep abreast of warranty policies and procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to warranty guidelines during repair and service activities.
- Conduct road tests and performance evaluations to verify the effectiveness of repairs and ensure the proper functioning of vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, representing the dealership and the service department in a positive manner.
- Adhere to dealership policies, procedures, and ethical standards while carrying out job responsibilities.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Qatar GCC
- English
- Intermediate Ms Office Suites
- Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
Education
- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification
