Job Responsibilities

Lead and manage the general accounting function, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
Oversee the preparation and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and corporate policies, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Supervise and mentor the general accounting team, providing guidance, performance management, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Review and analyze general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting principles.
Monitor and analyze financial data, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and improve financial performance.
Coordinate and oversee the year-end closing process, including the preparation of financial statements, audit schedules, and supporting documentation.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and timely resolution of audit findings.
Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and standardization within the general accounting function.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, treasury, and legal, to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts, ensuring accurate elimination of intercompany transactions and balances.
Oversee the accounts payable function, including vendor invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor statement reconciliations.
Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including credit control, collections, and customer account reconciliations.
Coordinate and support internal and external financial audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of information and documentation.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other general accounting activities.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
Stay updated with accounting regulations, pronouncements, and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary adjustments to accounting practices.
Participate in the implementation and enhancement of accounting systems and software, ensuring effective utilization and integration with other financial systems.
Uphold ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality in all accounting activities.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
