Job Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport documents, vehicles, parts, and personnel to designated locations.
  • Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving, ensuring the safety of passengers, cargo, and other road users.
  • Inspect company vehicles before and after each trip, checking for any mechanical issues or damage and reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to the assigned routes and schedules, ensuring on-time pickups and deliveries.
  • Load and unload vehicles, parts, and other cargo in a safe and secure manner, following proper loading and unloading procedures.
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork, such as delivery receipts, logs, and vehicle inspection reports, are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and general cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Collaborate with the relevant reporting authority to optimize delivery routes, reduce fuel consumption, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with the relevant reporting authority, providing updates on delivery status, delays, or issues encountered during transportation.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders during deliveries.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as and when required.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations, road safety practices, and company policies pertaining to driving and transportation.
  • Assist in other tasks within the relevant reporting authority or relevant department as assigned.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications

  • Defensive driving course completion, first aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience in the automotive industry, familiarity with vehicle maintenance, and knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns.

Skills

  • Familiarity with automotive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Multilingual abilities for better communication with diverse passengers/customers.
  • Basic computer skills for electronic logbook and communication purposes.
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws/regulations.
  • Ability to navigate and read maps effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Familiarity with GPS systems and route optimization software.
