Title: Auto Mechanic
Job Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify vehicle malfunctions and accurately determine the root cause of issues.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles to assess their condition and identify potential future problems.
- Repair and replace malfunctioning or worn-out components, parts, and systems, such as engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
- Conduct thorough vehicle system checks to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
- Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment to aid in troubleshooting and identifying complex issues.
- Collaborate with other team members to exchange knowledge and insights on repair techniques and best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly handled and stored.
- Collaborate with the parts department to source and order necessary replacement parts and materials.
- Keep up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair work performed on vehicles, including detailed notes on repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist and provide guidance to less experienced mechanics or apprentices when needed.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials, such as used oil, coolant, and batteries, in accordance with environmental guidelines.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately and timely.
- Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating vehicle concerns and repair recommendations.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
Qualifications
Skills
- Basic computer skills for accessing service manuals, diagnostic software, and inventory systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of automotive systems and components, ability to interpret technical diagrams and manuals, attention to detail, problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills, willingness to stay updated with emerging automotive technologies and trends.
Experience
Education
- High school graduation
- Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
