Title: Auto Electrician
Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in vehicles, including starters, alternators, batteries, wiring, lighting systems, and other electrical components.
- Use diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters and scan tools, to identify electrical problems and perform accurate diagnoses.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical components, wiring, and connectors to restore proper functionality.
- Install new electrical components, including audio systems, alarms, GPS units, and other aftermarket accessories, according to customer preferences and specifications.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
- Perform electrical upgrades and modifications, such as installing additional lighting or upgrading audio systems.
- Follow wiring diagrams and technical specifications to ensure proper installation and repair of electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines, industry standards, and safety regulations while performing electrical repairs and installations.
- Keep accurate records of electrical repairs, parts used, and labor hours for billing and warranty purposes.
- Collaborate with other technicians and departments to coordinate repair activities and address complex electrical issues.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive electrical technologies, trends, and industry advancements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, explaining electrical repairs, and offering recommendations for optimal performance.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians in automotive electrical systems.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
Qualifications
Skills
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of diagnostic software and systems used in the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in automotive electrical work.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Education
- High school graduation
- Automotive technology or electrical engineering.
